This was just too funny. It's made me blog again cause I just gotta show everyone.

springtime in the girl's bedroom

Spring seemed so far away in February, so I decided to paint some spring into Nicole and Eliza's bedroom. I had a lot of fun and they both love it. Nicole wants me to add some fairies flying around too, but I don't know that I really want to tackle that. These didn't take that long, so in a couple of years when they want it all different, it won't be overly painful to paint over the top.

Josh was playing tag with Nicole and Eliza in the backyard and my dad took some pics. It doesn't look like it, but it is getting warmer. Nicole's been asking for weeks now, "is it going to be spring soon?" Thank heavens they can go run around outside again.

This is how I found Porter the other morning. I went to find him to put him down for his morning nap and he had gone upstairs with Eliza. She had dressed him in a tulle slip, red satin skirt, pink sash and fairy wings. I laughed my head off when I saw him. Too bad there wasn't a hidden camera to catch Eliza getting him dressed. That would have been comical. He was content to wander around in his outfit too. Perhaps it was thanks to the binky. He must have found one upstairs before she got him dressed.

Nicole has finally lost a tooth. She's actually lost both bottom teeth by now, with one on top a little loose. She was sooooo excited to have a loose tooth. She's been so worried that all her friends had already lost teeth and she hadn't yet. She was in the tub when she discovered her first loose one and she screamed for me to come and see. She was so happy to have a loose tooth that she started crying. It was too cute. It reminded me how the trials in their little lives are so big to them, and seemingly insignificant to us. My children remind me to be compassionate. And I'm so grateful that one of her huge trials was that she was one of the last to have a loose tooth.

dinner time

One day Porter discovered that the boxes in the pantry have food that likes inside. This was the most lovely of his spills thus far. And may I ask why messes like this always happen at about 4:55pm, right when I'm about to start dinner. If I remember right, he did this while I was downstairs finding some chicken in the freezer. He's too cute to get mad at though.

Can you get any cuter than that? He's taking a few steps on his own now and just loves it. You can tell he's so proud of himself.

Eliza with her new "American" doll from Santa. She and Nicole are calling them "American" dolls, but Santa doesn't spend that much on dolls. These are just as cute for 1/4 the cost.

Nicole with hers. She took the hair out of the braids and then wanted her to have straight hair, so I had to spend about half and hour straightening her hair with my flat iron on a really low setting. It worked though and she's happy.

Our gingerbread house we made at the beginning of December. I left it on the counter next to where Porter's high chair was. We started nibbling on it a week or so after it was done and once Porter tasted an m&m from off the roof, whenever he was sitting in his chair he'd point at it feverishly and make this whiny "hmmmmm!" sound. It's funny how quickly they learn that they like candy!

Porter has also learned that the boxes in the pantry that he can reach have food inside them. I found him sitting in the kitchen with his mouth chuck full of HoneyComb. He was having a great time and cried mightily when I took the box away.
